Qualified Practitioner
Qualified Practitioner membership is open to any qualified Sign Language Interpreter or Sign Language Translator

Trainee Practitioner Member
Trainee practitioner members of ASLI are trainee interpreters, translators and interpreters for Deafblind people who are regulated by a national regulatory body for interpreters/translators.

Non-Practicing Member
Non-Practicing members of ASLI are interpreters, translators and interpreters for Deafblind people previously or currently registered with a national regulatory body for interpreters who are not working in these roles.
They may be retired, on an extended career break or working in a different industry, but who wish to maintain connections with other interpreters and translators

Student membership of ASLI is most suitable for students of interpreting and translation who are currently engaged on an interpreting and/or translation course that, on completion, will lead to registration as a trainee or registered interpreter/translator.
Student members will not practice as an interpreter or translator other than for the explicit purpose of their studies, with appropriate supervision

Individual Supporters - any person who supports the aims and objectives of the Association, as laid out in the Articles of Association.
Corporate Supporters - any organisation that supports the aims and objectives of the Association, as laid out in the Articles of Association. Specifically: To encourage good practice in sign language interpreting and to represent the interests and view of sign language interpreters and the sign language interpreting profession in the United Kingdom. The membership will be in the name of the organisation.
